Founded in 1968, Interstate Chemical Company, Inc., which is ISO 9001:2008 certified, is a privately held corporation headed by Dr. Albert R. Puntureri, president and chairman of the board.  Since its inception with an austere beginning in Mercer, Pennsylvania and with a regional service area, the company has emerged as a preeminent chemical manufacturing and distribution company.  With corporate headquarters in Hermitage, Pennsylvania, the company has expanded to include offices throughout the northeastern, midwestern, and western United States, which includes services to over 25 states.

In addition to its expansive facilities in Hermitage and its other offices, the company operates 16 terminals and warehouse facilities with bulk storage capacities of 17 million gallons; its barge terminal on the Ohio River near Pittsburgh, PA alone has storage facilities exceeding 13 million gallons.  To provide optimum and expeditious service, the company has a fleet of over 200 trucks, trailers, and stainless steel bulk tankers, which are serviced and maintained at the company-operated logistics terminal.  To ensure the quality control of company products, Interstate Chemical Company has a state-of-the-art laboratory in all of its hub facilities.  All products must meet the insistence of high company standards.  In this way the integrity of Interstate Chemical Company's reputation is enhanced and protected.
